Human
Resource Management (HRM) |
 |
| Introduction |
 |
|
The
effective management of an organisation’s human resources is now
recognised across the world as a critical component in the
success of both public and private enterprises. Irrespective of
size, the presence of well trained and motivated staff, capable
of working effectively as a team, will enable organisations to
meet the fresh challenges that come from the rapidly changing
environments in which all organisations must now operate. The
recognition of the role and importance of human resource
management in the workplace has lead to a demand for trained and
qualified professionals who can advise organisations in this
area, and to the highest development of a career structure
through which such a professional may rise to the highest levels
of the organisation. |
|
In
recognition of the growing importance of this field of
managerial activity, The Association of Business Executives
has developed a Human Resource Management program, leading to
awards at Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels.
This programme introduces students to the academic disciplines
that underlie the effective management of the human resource,
and goes on to explore both theory and practice of human
resource management activities. Such activities range from
initial manpower planning, which reflects the broad long term
aims of the organisation together with its technological and
labour market content, through resorting and then onto the
training and development of individuals and teams, which will
enhance their performance within the workplace. Students who
complete this programme will find their HRM skills and their
own personal marketability within the organisation enhanced,
as well as their preparedness for further courses of study.
